Lillian was born February 19, 1917 to Antonia and Peter Trylinsky at their farm near Steinbach, MB. She was the eldest of 10 children.
She married Fred Benes December 16, 1939. They lived their early life in Red Lake, Ontario and moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1942 where she raised their family. After Fred’s retirement in 1973 they moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. After the death of Fred she moved to Calgary, Alberta for 5 years and then returned to Winnipeg in 2006. In 2012 she moved into the personal care home in Baldur, Manitoba until her passing.
Lillian was a wonderful mother homemaker and cook extraordinaire, blessing her family and friends with her specialty Ukrainian dishes. Her love for her family and nature were expressed artistically in her beautiful needlework pictures.
She had a zest for life, a determination and perseverance of character. She took wonderful care of her husband Fred when he was ill with cancer. She enjoyed people and was loved and appreciated by those who knew her and will be greatly missed by her family.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to staff of the Personal Care Home in Baldur, Manitoba for their wonderful care and the Carberry Hospital Staff for their care and compassion at Lillian’s time of passing.
