I met John when I was a very young teen. John and my husband along with Don McInnis were like the 3 musketeers. Always together, in and out of trouble, but always friends. I remember when John rolled his 53 or 54 Chev. All 3 were together through that and not one of them were seriously hurt. The car was totalled and they came out with bruises and another memory to talk about. I remember when John and Val met and married and moved to Glenboro. We lost touch with them for a number of years after that as we moved to Winnipeg. Met John and sons a couple of times while we were both cruising Killarney lake with our kids.
It was a privilege to be able to call John a friend and to be able to have some memories of his life as a teenager as well as a long time friend. Although already fighting Parkinsons, John and Val made the trip to Winnipeg in January 2015 to give their condolences at my husband, Ken's funeral. I was very fortunate to be able to see John and Val a couple of times after that before I moved to Calgary.
My deepest sympathy in your loss, may you have comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is with a lot of family and friends.
