Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dad Alfred Edward Arnold on Friday June 5, 2020 at the Glenboro Health Centre, at the age of 82 years.
Alf was born December 4, 1937 in Deloraine, MB to George and Lena Arnold.

Alf leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory; his three children; sons Curtis Arnold of Dallas, TX, Terry (Colleen) Arnold of Flin Flon, MB and daughter Tami-Lynn (Darrell) Finnigan of Merritt, BC, four grandchildren; Lauren Arnold, Ashley Crossan, Mathew (Jennifer) Cross, Colton (Sydney) Finnigan, his special little man great grandson Cooper Cross and great granddaughter Kennedy Arnold. His sister Margaret Brigden and many nieces and nephews.

Alf was predeceased on August 17, 2019 by his cherished and loving wife of 63 years Muriel. His parents, brothers William, George and sisters Edie Arnold and Gertrude Truax.

We were blessed to have such a wonderful and caring dad, grandpa and great grandpa. Sleep well dad, it is well deserved. We will love you and hold you in our hearts forever.

As dad wished cremation has taken place and Mom and Dad will be interred together in the Carberry Plains Cemetery at a later date. Friends that so desire may make a memorial donation in Alf’s memory to the Glenboro Palliative Care, Box 310, Glenboro MB R0K 0X0.

Dad: although you’re not here with us, I just wanted to say Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for the awesome childhood, the memories, love and support. I couldn’t have asked for a better dad, grandpa for Mat and Colton, great grandpa for Cooper and a wonderful father in law for Darrell. We love you and miss you every day. As you said a man is only as good as his word and you were a great man. You will be forever in our hearts.

Our condolences to your family on the loss of your Dad. I have many fond memories of your Dad throughout my whole life. He was the type of Uncle that when you got together he always left you laughing and feeling good it was always fun. He really was a great Uncle to have. Patti and I have many fond memories of our visits with your parents, they were always happy times and lots of laughs. My last phone call to him in the hospital was typical Uncle Alf, “don’t feel bad for me, I’ve had a great life” we are probably not the type of people that have to tell each other how we feel because when we get together we just know it. We will never forget him. Pat and Bob Brigden

Some of my best childhood memories are the times we spent at the farm. Dad stayed typical to form until the very end....don’t worry about me, I had a great life. Thank you both for your kind words and thoughts.

Tami, Terry , Curtis & families you are in my thoughts & prayers at this most difficult time. Who would have ever thought that we would lose two loved & cherished people in less that a year. I have so many great memories of your mom & dad, they were a special part of our lives for many years. Bill & A.E. together was like two peas in a pod, what one didn't think of the other one did, this was good & bad. Great men & great souls. R.I.P. Alf
