We celebrate the life of Muriel Irene Wickens (nee Macklin). What a wonderful family! My Great-Grandfather Wyndham Gould married Elizabeth (Bessie) Rebecca Ruddle Macklin on December 9, 1875 in County of Buckinghamshire, England, Bessie had 11 Macklin siblings. Some years ago, Muriel reached out to me via Ancestry, and since then, we have shared our family histories. I will miss our shared genealogy research! Our hearts go out to Muriel's family on their loss. If any Macklins would like to continue work on our shared family trees, you may reach Dawn Shelet through Lindsay Wytinck, who has my contact information. Muriel was an Angel on earth and now she is an Angel in Heaven.

Muriel and Raymond were our neighbours for years in the Excelsior district. We always kept in contact and treasured their friendship over many years. She had such a beautiful singing voice and sang at our wedding in 1966. i wish to extend sympathy to the Wickens family. Margaret(Preston)Yalte.

We want to express our condolences to the Wickens family.
We got to appreciated Muriel very much and felt like we had a connection with her whenever we met at the lodge in Pilot Mound.
May the Lord bless you!
Sincerely, Fred and Priscilla Hein

I got to know Muriel through volunteering at the lodge. She told me that it was okay to tell someone if you were chilly and they could do something about that. She said if you weren’t feeling great that people really didn’t want to know so you’d better just be involved and get you mind off your aches and pains. She loved fiercely and never tired of telling family stories. Muriel was a gem and I’ll miss her.
