It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Remi Robert Messner, at his residence in Killarney on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the age of 72 years, formerly of Somerset, MB.

Remi leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Linda (nee DeJaegher), daughter Tanice Gudnason (Dean Fenwick) of Killarney, son Jared (Michelle) of Olds, AB and his beloved grandchildren Rylan, Cody, Ayrianna, Janelle and Kyle.

He is also survived by his brother Dennis (Anna) of Morden, sisters Mariette Messner-Fortier of Winnipeg, Claire (Laurence) DeGraeve of Somerset, Yvonne (Jack) Shaw of Kelowna B.C., sister-in-law Gisèle Messner of Winnipeg, mother-in-law Jenny DeJaegher of Somerset, sister-in-law Sharon DeJaegher Fehr of Manitou, and brother-in-law Laurence (Denise) DeJaegher of Somerset as well as numerous extended family members.

Remi was predeceased by infant daughters Cheryl & Charlene, parents Nicholaus & Laurette Messner, sisters Hilda Labossiere, Anita Droux, brothers Edward & Andrew Messner, brothers-in-law Armel Labossiere, Alfred Fortier, George Droux & William Fehr and by father-in-law Michel DeJaegher.

Prayers will be held in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 7:30pm.
Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Notre Dame de la Nativité Catholic Church, Somerset, MB with Father Paulin Akpapupu as Celebrant.
Eulogy & video tribute will commence at 1:30 pm. Interment to follow in the Somerset Parish Cemetery.

Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Remi's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or to a charity of choice.

Sorry to hear about Remi. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Remi had a great smile and a good sense of humour.
I will remember all the good talks we had sitting outside at my dad’s with everyone from the condo’s.

Even though I did not know Remi for that long it was very apparent to me that he was a kind hearted man who always had a smile on his face and was willing to help others as he did many times for my Mother (his next door neighbor). My sincere condolences go out to Linda and family. May your family and friends comfort you during this extremely difficult time.
