On Sunday, April 27th 2014, at the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home, Alice Watson passed peacefully at the age of 96 years to be with her beloved family that passed before her. Her loving husband, Martin in 1995, infant daughter Gaylia in 1947, sons Richard 1978, Clayton 1979, Douglas 2013, Bryan 2014, brothers Frank, Tom, Lorne and granddaughter Roxanne. May they have a joyous reunion! Alice will be remembered by her son Melvin and wife Margaret, daughter in laws, Gloria, Sharon and Doreen, sister-in-law Beatrice Henry (Tom) and by her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who with some had a very special relationship. Alice was born to parents, Sam and Laura Henry in Lavenham in 1918 where she spent her early years and married Martin Watson of Treherne in 1938. Here on the Watson family farm they raised a family of five boys. Mom loved her family above all else. Their home was a constant gathering place of family and friends filled always with good food, drink and music! When she had spare time from her family, Alice loved the quiet country life, loved her music, loved sewing and baking. Alice spent her last years in the Tiger Hills Villa and the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home and we would like to thank the staff and doctors firstly for their excellent care and kindness they gave to Mom but also for the family guidance as well. Funeral services were held at the Treherne United Church on Thursday May 1st, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Quentin Robinson officiating. Interment followed at Bethel Cemetery. Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Alice's memory to the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home, Box 130 Treherne MB R0G 2V0.
