Obituary

Passed away at the Baldur Personal Care Home on Saturday January 25, 2020 at the age of 99 years, Anna Dyck (nee Wiebe) of Baldur MB. Anna leaves to mourn her passing her three sons Willie (Elve) Dyck of Winnipeg, Cornie (Kathy) Dyck of Winnipeg, Isaac (Maria) Dyck of Minnedosa MB, daughter Mary (Bruce) Graham of Baldur; eight grandchildren Jennifer (Brad), Bryan (Ashley) David (Lindsey), Darlene (Gary), Tricia (Derek), Kenneth, Sean (Katie), Kevin (Alison); sixteen great grandchildren Bennett, Baylee, Saylor, Alabama, Thayden, Damon, Kenzi, Brianna, Alexa, Mariah, Kylee, Naomi (Dave), Kian, Jay, Lila, Derek; two great great grandchildren Scarlet & Olivia, one sister Mary Klassen of Altona as well as many nieces & nephews. Anna was predeceased by her husband Jacob, infant son Henry, parents Abram & Anna Wiebe, brothers Abram, Jacob, William, Cornie, Isaac and by a sister Agatha Hiebert. Mom was born at Plum Coulee MB to Anna and Abram Wiebe. She was the oldest child of 7 siblings. Her positive, kind and caring attitude began very early on as she helped to care for all of her siblings. 1938 was an exceptionally difficult year for the family as her brothers Abram and Jacob drowned and William was still born. She cared for her family until she met the love of her life! In 1955, she married dad and they moved to Horndean. Soon after, Willie, Cornie, Henry, Isaac and Mary were born. Henry gained his wings after 34 days. He died in mom's arms. The family moved to a farm in MacGregor in 1966. Mom loved this because she always grew things. She had big gardens and she loved planting fruit trees and vegetables. She also grew many plants and flowers. Such a green thumb, anything we could kill she could save then try to give back to us! In 1984, mom and dad retired to Sidney, where mom again had a huge garden, and beautiful flowers. She could always be seen picking, and sneaking those bites of fresh fruits! She could also be seen sitting at the front window of the living room sewing her famous patch work quilt, trying out a new craft, knitting her grandchildren socks and mitts, or watching all those amazing cooking shows to try out the latest recipes. While there were so many good times, unfortunately Dad died suddenly in 1995. While mom was determined to stay in the house, she ultimately decided she would live by her baby girl and in 2003, she moved to Belmont and then to the Baldur Personal Care Home. She always grew and nurtured, always ready with a smile, ready to help in any way she could. While living in Belmont she became very fond of Morley Myers, they enjoyed sitting together and holding hands, it was quite a blow to her when he passed away last year. Thank you Bev, Christine and Andrew for being part of mom's life also. Mom lived 4 days passed her 99th birthday. She lived every day with grace and loved her family dearly. Although her vision began to fail, she would always recognize your voice and grin ear to ear when her family was around. She lived by the motto of a short visit was better than no visit. Even though we will miss mom more than words can say, we know she is at peace sitting with dad, and snuggling Henry. Her kind, caring attitude will forever be remembered and we will miss the talks that always left us feeling like we could conquer anything that came before us. We love you mom! Funeral service will be held on Friday January 31, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro MB, with Pastors Harry Friesen & Dan McCutchin officiating.
