Obituary

Calvin John Bartley (Kelly) of Cartwright Manitoba formerly of Selkirk Manitoba passed away due to a courageous battle with Colon Cancer, on Monday the 19th of May 2014 at the age of 75 years. Kelly, as an only child, was predeceased by his parents Earl and Edna Bartley. Kelly will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elisabete and their children. James (Diana) with grandchildren Emily, Kelly, Jimmi & Cheryl of Virginia Beach, VA The twins, Jackie Antochiw (Rob) and granddaughter Paige of Selkirk, MB John (Mandy) and Dylan of Sarnia Ontario. Kelly was born in Killarney, MB, July 13,1938 Kelly then moved to Selkirk where he soon met his wife to be Liz and married and started a family and soon after he bought his first garage "Kelly's Selkirk Service" on Morris Ave. After many years, Kelly sold his garage and later began a career with Canadian Coast Guard working in Environmental Response until he retired 1996, where he then continued to pursue his passion of fixing and selling cars. Kelly's love of antique cars started as a young boy and lasted his whole life. Kelly restored several antique cars over the years, as it was a lifelong passion. Kelly was always heard to say, "I was born a mechanic". There was no car he didn't want to work on. Kelly had numerous trophies that he was very proud of, from the several car shows he travelled to with the family. Kelly loved travelling and taking the kids to motocross races and watching his sons race. Kelly retired to Cartwright MB where he enjoyed living in the country for the remainder of his life. Kelly was a true animal lover and had a real kind heart towards animals and his beloved dogs Tiffy and Lucky and Daisy the cat. Kelly had a lot of lifetime friends, he will be greatly missed by them. In keeping with Kelly's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service and interment will be arranged at a later date at St. Clements Church, Selkirk MB. Thank you to all the staff at Baldur Transitional Unit for your compassion towards Kelly, your kindness did not go unnoticed in his last days. Thank you to all the friends that visited him and special thanks to the Barkman family for your compassion you showed towards Kelly.
