Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family, announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Freda Wanless of Belmont, Mb. at the Glenboro Personal Care Home on Wednesday March 23rd, 2016 at the age of 93 years. Freda Wanless (Jaworski) was born November 4, 1922 at Raymore, Saskatchewan. She was the 2nd child and first daughter to Anthony and Freda Jaworski. She was sister to George and Harry (deceased in Infancy), Edward, Wilhemenia, Fred, Anton, Jim, Marge, and Rose. She grew up in Masefield and Wishart Sask. In 1939 she married Wilfred Vivian and from that union had four children. Ernest, Arthur, Nel and Gail. Over the years she worked for various farm families. She held a position as cook at the Manitoba Sanatorium and Pelican Training Centre in Ninette, Mb. for twenty years. On November 5, 1966 she married Jack Wanless of Belmont, Mb. They lived on the farm south of Belmont until they retired to their new home on 3rd St. in Belmont. In 1982 after 16 years of marriage Jack passed away with cancer. Mom enjoyed a simple life with few luxuries. She enjoyed travelling to the States with friends and visiting her children and grandchildren in the Prairie provinces. Mom was a quiet lady, who never wanted a fuss or to be the centre of attention. When she turned 80 and 90 we had family reunions to celebrate with her. She enjoyed seeing all her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her cats over the years. Her two favourites were Krimis and Missy. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and playing cards at the Drop in Centre in Belmont. She enjoyed sewing carnival costumes for her grandchildren. Most of the time they won first prize. She was an avid member of Knox United Church in Belmont & was a member of Rae Rebekah Lodge #58 of Belmont for many years. She held various positions but was especially proud to be Noble Grand for a term. For the next years we would gather to celebrate a great lady. The last 2 1/2 years she resided in the Glenboro Personal Care Home as in October 2013 when her health deteriorated she took up residency there. On Wednesday March 23rd, after the last flower was planted her last game of cards was played and the last quilt was quilted she left this life how she lived it, with quiet dignity. Mom left to be reunited with her husband Jack, her parents, Anthony and Freda, eight siblings George, Harry, Edward, Wilhemenia, Fred, Anton and Marge. Four brother-in-laws, Bill Kryluk, Ernie Verity, David Iverson and Joe Weisgerber & her two sister-in-laws, Edna Jaworski and Pat Jaworski. As Mom so wished, a Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday March 31st, 2016 at 10:00 am in the Wishart Community Hall, Wishart Sk. Interment will follow in the Round Plain Stone Church Cemetery, at Wishart, Sk. A luncheon will follow where family and friends can gather one last time to celebrate her life. Those left to mourn her passing are her children, Ernest ( Marcelle) Arthur, Nel and Gail, 14 grandchildren,31 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren, sister Rose and brother Jim, one sister-in-law, Sally Jaworski and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Glenboro Personal Care Home for their care and concern over the last few years. Mom so enjoyed getting to know you.
