Gloria was born January 25, 1933 one of six children raised in Altamont by their father Thomas Hutchinson who raised them on his own.  Gloria became a teacher and taught at Excelsior School, a one room schoolhouse near the village of Greenway, close to the Charette family farm.  Gloria always said that her life started when she met and married the love of her life, Stan.  They were married in 1952 and had 70 years together, 50 on the farm and 20 retired in Miami, MB.

Gloria was so many things; a Teacher, a Farmer of every type with Stan, a Community Volunteer, a great Christmas Dinner and holiday celebrations hostess for her family, a Fan of the sports played and activities done by her family, a School Bus Driver of 25 years with Mountain School Division, a Gardener.  She and Stan enjoyed their life and community on the farm very much.

They then retired to Miami, Mb. and enjoyed the next 20 years there even more.  They took up golf and enjoyed the community of Miami with all of its conveniences within walking distance.  They had lots to do and enjoyed coffee and chats with friends every day.  Gloria loved volunteering at the Miami Library.  She also loved gardening and was committed every year to growing the best tomatoes in her

front flower bed along with petunias of course. She loved participating in the Horticultural Fair for so many years. She organized and packaged and entered the vegetables and flowers grown by the Apartment every year and they would often win.

Once Stan's health started to decline, Gloria was there every day.  Together they were able to give him the best outcome at Boyne Lodge and Gloria was there every day then too.  She would sometimes push him in his wheelchair to the restaurant for cherry pie or go to the golf course to watch the golfers but she visited most days.  Stan would not have lived as long as he did without Gloria.

A wonderful Mother and Grandmother and Great Grandmother who was devoted to her family and who helped and supported us in countless ways.  We will remember and miss Gloria with love.
