Passed away at his home in Austin, MB on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the age of 56 years, Garth Early, of Austin, formerly of Holland, MB.

Garth leaves to mourn his passing his parents Wayne and Delores (nee Graham) Early, brothers Terry (Theresa) Early and Colin (Kristen) Early, nieces and nephews Justin (Jill), Rebecca (Dave), Nathan, Andrew, Russel and Benjamin, and great-nieces and nephews Audrey, Emma, Bruce and Anna as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends & support workers who were like family.

Garth was predeceased by his grandparents George and Lily Early and Lloyd and Edna Graham, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and extended family members.

Garth was the second son of Wayne and Delores Early, born March 28 1970. He grew up on the farm at Pratt and started school at age 4 in the special education room at Austin Elementary. He was an energetic youngster, having a pedal bike that he was not able to ride so he pushed it all over the yard. He would attend St. Amant Centre in Winnipeg during summer holidays for a couple of summers, then attended Portage MDC for a few more summers. Garth enjoyed this, for it was like going to camp. MDC eventually became his home. There he had his daily routines and activities to keep him preoccupied. He was an avid tv watcher for certain programs like The Price Is Right, he didn’t carry a watch but knew when his show was coming on, and he would be in the big arm chair when it started. Again, he enjoyed cycling when grandma Graham gave her 3-wheel bike to him. He could now ride his own bike. He enjoyed going camping with residents at the camp that MDC had, which included riding horses, which he really enjoyed. In other outings he was first out the door to be shot gun. He then became a resident at a house in Austin (Visions of Independence) in 2022. Over the years he has attended Christmas with family, birthdays, weddings, and anniversary parties for his parents. Unfortunately, the good Lord called him forth and that is his new residence. He will be remembered by his parents, brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews and niece. Rest in peace.

Funeral service will be held in the Holland United Church on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with Heather Grobb officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Holland Community Hall. Interment will take place at a later date in the Austin Cemetery.
