Celebration of Life ~ Hanley Gates

Peacefully, on Sunday, May 31, 2026, Hanley Gates passed away at the Tiger Hills Health Centre in Treherne, Manitoba at the age of 92 years.

Hanley is survived by his wife of 64 years Marilyn, daughter Terri (Brent) and son Rodney (Robin), sisters Leona Timmerman and Daisy Dowhy, sister­ in-law Irene (Alan) Nicoll, brothers-in­ law Brian Lounsbury, Bruce (Joyce) Lounsbury, Ron (Bonnie) Lounsbury, Edward (Dorothy) Lounsbury and various nephews and nieces.

He is predeceased by his father and mother, Lawrence and Marjorie (nee Miller) Gates, brothers Donald and Barry Gates, sisters Jessie Clark and Deanna Durand, brothers-in-law Lorne Clark, Raymond Timmerman, Greg Dowhy, Hubert Durand, David, Donald, Evan, Gerald and Larry Lounsbury, in-laws Orville and Megan Lounsbury, sister-in-law Shirley Trollope, cousin Gloria Carlstad, aunts Bella Carlstad and Winnie LeBarre and uncle John Miller.

Viewing and visitation will be held at Jamieson's Funeral Services Holland Chapel from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday, June 8, 2026. A Celebration of Hanley's Life will be held at the Treherne Community Hall, Treherne, Manitoba on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 2:30 pm with Heather Grobb officiating. A reception will follow; everyone is welcome. Interment will take place at Boyne Creek Cemetery. The service will be recorded and available for viewing on Hanley's memorial page at www.willmorchapel.com.
