Jim Lorne Clemis, formerly of Glenboro, MB, passed away peacefully at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home with friend Jeff Kroeker by his side on Sunday, September 13, 2020. Jim was 79 years old.
He was predeceased by is his loving wife Eileen, his parents Fred & Violet Clemis, Minnie Evans and husband George, brothers George Clemis, Alex (Pauline) Clemis, Milton, Ralph (Shirley) Clemis, brother-in-law Steward Hamilton and by a niece Rena Evans.
Jim is survived by his sister Violet Hamilton, nieces & nephews: Jean (Vic) Stinson, Irma (Dennis) Wood, Betty McKinnon, Brenda (Doug) Preston, Andy (Amanda) Clemis, Terry (Jim) Fox, Joan (Laurie) Teichrow, Doug (Debbie) Evans, Murray Evans, Melvin (Sandra) Clemis, Ruth (Brent) Denham, Shirley (Jim) Crans, Shannon (Verna) Clemis and many great nieces & nephews.
He is also survived by caregivers Jeff & Mel Kroeker & son Nicholas and by Peter & Helen Kroeker.
Jim was born on December 8, 1940 and was married July 1975. He attended Kingsley and Hecla Schools. He farmed on the family farm and was always willing to help other farmers.
One of his fondest memories was scaring away the geese while digging a dugout with Fred, Stewart & Elmer Hamilton. He loved listening to the Fugitives, Alan Jackson, George Jones, George Strait, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson and many times he would sing along with them.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Thursday September 17, 2020 at the Glenboro Cemetery with Pastor Dan McCutchin & Sandra Rex officiating. Friends that so desire, memorial donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Wawanesa Personal Care Home, Box 309, Wawanesa MB R0K 2G0 or to a charity of choice.
