Passed away at the Baldur Transitional Unit on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the age of 93 years, Jean Christina Ramage (nee Dowd) of Baldur MB.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Michael (Jayne) Ramage of Belfast, Ireland, Rob (Sherry) Ramage of Baldur, Barbara Ramage of Regina, Craig (Carolyn) Ramage of Baldur, and Mark Ramage of Toronto. Her Grandchildren that she was always so proud of Colleen (Greg), Ross (Alison), Emily, Liam, Nathan (Aimee), Lanny, Jessica (Niki), Ashley (Rob), Whittney (Derek), and Brett. Her Great Grandchildren that she adored and kept her entertained Reese, Beatrice, Niko, Neve, Kaden, Maddox, Nash, Booker, JR, Peregrine, Hawthorn, Alex and Nick.

She is also survived by her sisters Ruth Dowd, Doris Dowd, Adeline LaVigne, Alice Stubel, sister-in-law Winona Ramage, and her longtime friend Patsy Dekezel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Ross (2012), her parents James and Marie (nee Siemens) Dowd and her in-laws Raymond & Gwen Ramage, George Ramage, Wallace and Ruth Ramage, Donald and Isabelle Couch, and Ben Stubel.

Jean grew up on a farm east of Glenboro. In 1952 she married Ross Ramage and moved to the family farm where they raised 5 children. She loved attending local sporting events especially when family was playing.

One of Jean’s proudest accomplishments was serving on the Baldur Hospital Board for 17 years and being instrumental in obtaining funding for the Baldur Personal Care home. She and Ross moved to town after building a new house in 1990 where she remained until very recently.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date.
