We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Downey (Lee) on June 5th at the Notre Dame Foyer.
Mom was born July 2, 1933 to Howard and Sarah Lee as Marguerite Isabelle, better known as Margaret. She was number six in a family of seven.
She is survived by her family: Sharon (Don), Barb (Murray), Myrna (Rick), Naomi and Jim (Louise).
Her grandchildren Kari (Gino), Trevor (Nicky), Lonna (Brad), Jeff (Laura), Connor (Andrea), Breanne (Brett) and Michael (Haley).
Her great grandchildren Kade and Taryn Oster, Ty and Raina (Vigar), Henley, Mason and Blake (Sundell), Lexi and Ava (Timmerman) and Emersyn and Levi (Hawryluk).
Her sister Opal Turnbull, brother Maurice Lee, sister-in-law Laura Lee, and Phyllis Lee.
She was predeceased by her grandson Craig Sundell, brothers Jack, Doug and Clifford and sister Christina and parents Howard and Sarah Lee.
She loved spending time with her family. Her grandkids loved her and thought she was pretty cool. Her great grandkids were fortunate to get to know and love her.
She was always a very hard worker, canning, cooking for ten at every meal, doing chores outside when needed. She drove us to all activities, messengers and CGIT, piano lessons, 4-H, sports events. She never missed one of Jim's hockey games when he was playing in numerous places.
She was a Resource Coordinator for Home Care for 20 years. She liked to golf, play cards (crib with grandkids and never let them win). She liked music and dancing, camping, travelling and baking for her family. She was up for any adventure, snowmobiling, quadding.
Mom was the heart of our family.
