Margaret Wood (nee Verstraete) October 14, 1933 - March 18, 2016. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother at the Glenboro Personal Care Home. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Lawrence in 2014. She was born in Cypress River MB and attended Cypress Valley School where she met the love of her life, Lawrence. They were wed on April 15 1952. They moved to a farm nine miles west of Glenboro MB and then to their present farm in 1956. They continued to farm until their retirement. Mom enjoyed baking, gardening, spoiling our puppies, and watching curling and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on TV. But, most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. Left to mourn Margaret's passing are her sons Garry Wood (Donna Bourdeaud'hui) of Brandon MB, Dennis (Irma) Wood of Glenboro MB, and Mark (Sandra) Wood of Gimli MB, grandchildren Kevin (Leanne), Trevor (Angela), Jason, Danielle (Brayden), and Michael, great granddaughters Bridget and Sophia and great grandson William, her brother-in-law Leo (Mona) Wood, sister-in-laws Jessie, and Imelda Wood and Esther Verstraete, as well of numerous niece and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents August and Clementine Verstraete, Brothers Marcel and Rene (Margaret)Verstraete, Sister Clara (Andre) DeRuyck, as well as many extended relatives. Funeral service will be held at Willmor Chapel, Glenboro MB at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31st, 2016. Father Phillip Malayil, celebrant. Prayers will take place at 10:45a.m. prior to the service.
