"Today we gather to celebrate and remember the life of Mary Maxwell—a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the heart of a family that she cherished deeply. Mary's story began on her grandparents' farm, where she was born and raised. Farm life shaped her character: it taught her the value of hard work, perseverance, humility, and gratitude. Those qualities stayed with her throughout her life. She understood the rhythms of the seasons, the rewards of patient labor, and the importance of caring for the people and things entrusted to her. Her faith was the foundation of her life. It guided her decisions, sustained her through challenges, and gave her hope and strength. Through her example, she showed her family what it means to trust God, serve others, and live with kindness and grace. Mary was blessed with three children, and from that family tree grew generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were touched by her love. She found joy in gathering her family together. Whether around the dinner table, during holidays, or for simple visits, Mary made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Family was never just important to her—it was her greatest treasure. Mary was a woman of many talents. Her hands were rarely still. She knitted, crocheted, sewed, and crafted beautiful things, creating gifts that carried not only her skill but also her love. She tended her gardens with care, preserved the harvest through canning, and found satisfaction in providing for those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, where family and friends were nourished by both her cooking and her hospitality. She also filled her home with music. She loved singing and playing the piano, sharing joy through song and creating memories that will remain in the hearts of those who listened. She enjoyed simple pleasures as well—gathering around a crokinole board, sharing laughter, stories, and friendly competition with those she loved. As we stand here today, we remember a life well lived. We remember her faith, her strength, her creativity, her generosity, and her unwavering devotion to family. The lessons she taught, the traditions she passed on, and the love she shared continue to live in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her. Though we grieve her absence, we are grateful for the gift of her life. We take comfort in knowing that the seeds she planted—in faith, in family, and in love—will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. Mary, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, thank you for your love, your example, and the countless ways you enriched our lives. You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured. May you rest in peace, embraced by the faith that sustained you and reunited with those who have gone before you." A Graveside Service was held at Hillside Cemetery, Belmont, MB, on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 11:00 am with Dennis Schram officiating.  Following the interment, a reception took place in the Belmont Community Hall.
