Arthur Murray Williamson was born on August 14, 1922 to Arthur & Florence on the farm south-east of Belmont. He attended Alma School until Grade 8 and then stayed on the farm working with his dad and extended family. He started farming on his own in 1946. On Dec. 9, 1947 he married Edith McPhail from the Delta District. Murray & Ede remained on the farm until 2007. They had four children; Sharon, Vernon, Muriel and Blaine. In 2000, Murray was united with his eldest daughter, Dorothy. In 2007, Murray and Ede left the farm & moved into Killarney and remained there until October 2014. When Ede died, Murray then went and lived with Muriel on her farm near Nesbitt. In July 2015, he moved into the Wawanesa Health Centre where he remained till his passing. He is survived by his sister Pearl Carnahan, his five children Dorothy, Sharon, Vernon (Valerie), Muriel, Blaine (Wendy); also nine grandchildren, Derek, Don, Andrew, Heather, Trevor, Wendy, Bonnie, Tammy and Clinton and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Florence, his wife, Ede, sons-in-law Jack Boake and Bill Enns and brother-in-law Gord Carnahan. Murray passed away peacefully with family at his side on Sunday March 27, 2016 at the age of 93 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
