Passed away at the Glenboro Personal Care Home, on Friday November 25, 2016 at the age of 95 years, Roman Schamp, formerly of Cypress River MB. Roman Robert Achiel Schamp was born February 11, 1921 & raised on a farm near Cypress River MB to Jan & Augusta (Malfait) Schamp who came to Manitoba from Belgium to homestead. Roman had eight siblings & was predeceased by a brother & sister William and Simone in infancy, his parents Jan & Augusta Schamp, brother Gracien Schamp & wife Mildred & Tony Schamp, sister Annie & husband Gus Marginet, brother-in-laws Omer Rigaux and Armand Desrosiers, nephew Donny Marginet and nephew-in-law David Van Damme. Roman leaves to mourn his passing his brother Roger of Brandon, sisters Marie Rigaux of Cypress River & Mary Jane Desrosiers of Glenboro, 12 nieces & nephews & spouses, numerous great & great-great nieces & nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held in the St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, Holland MB, on Tuesday December 6, 2016 at 11:00 am with Father Jose Montepeque as Celebrant. Prayers will take place at 10:30 am prior to Mass. Interment followed in the St. John Berchmans Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Cypress River Memorial Hall. Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Roman's memory to a charity of ones choice.
