It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roy Earl Evans wishes to announce his passing on Thursday, August 8th, 2019 at the Pembina Manitou Health Centre (Manitou, MB), at the age of 88 years. Dad was born on March 8th, 1931 and spent his entire life on the farm at Somerset, MB. He was a farmer, an outdoors man, an avid curler, a seasoned traveler, and a real joker. He loved to camp, enjoyed a good polka, loved fiddling music, and looked forward to family gatherings. He was very proud of his farm and his family, as they encompassed his life's work and passion. Roy leaves to mourn his passing, his sons Jim (Yvonne), Dale (Rhonda) and Glen (Shannon) and their families. He also leaves behind his other children, Connie Brunet, Ken Evans, Catherine Leitao, Nancy MacLennan, Wayne Evans, David Evans, Janice Lyne, Barbara Evans and their families. Roy was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Edith (nee Phair), infant son Barry, parents James and Margaret Evans, as well as his siblings and their spouses. In accordance with Dad's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. The Family wishes to thank the Pembina Manitou Health Centre for their wonderful care and support throughout Dad's time with them. We truly appreciated knowing he was in very good hands.
