Ruth Johanna Lockhart (nee Bannerman) passed away at the age of 92 years on Friday November 15, 2019 at the Glenboro Personal Care Home surrounded by family. Ruth was born December 26, 1926 to Alexander and Sarah Bannerman, she was raised on the Bannerman homestead with her ten siblings. When Ruth left her home she went to work in Glenboro, Manitoba where she met Jim Lockhart. Jim and Ruth were married October 28th, 1946, shortly after they purchased a farm in the Hilton area, where they raised their family. After thirty years Jim and Ruth left the farm and purchased a home in Hilton, MB, once Ruth and Jim retired they relocated to Baldur, MB. Ruth had many interests, she was an avid fan of both baseball and hockey, attending many games. In 1977 she received a plaque from the Glenboro Nordics for being the most loyal fan. Ruth was a very active member of the Glenboro Legion, volunteering almost up to the time of her passing. Ruth leaves to cherish her memory two sons Bill (Wendy), Tom (Candace) also daughter Pat (Wayne) Bjarnason. Daughters in-law Sharon Lockhart and Arlene Lockhart, son-in-law Roger (Marcy) Elliot. Ruth is also survived by brothers Roy (Irene) from British Columbia, George (Shirley) from Alberta, Ralph (Sharon) Baldur, Bob (Janet) from Saskatchewan. Ruth has two sisters Ivy Wray who resides in British Columbia & Elaine Kavaner Baldur, MB. She is also survived by one brother-in-law Clifford (Lillian) Lockhart of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mom leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren whom she adored. Grandma Ruth loved any opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, babysitting when called upon or cheering them on in the stands of their many sporting events. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1994 after 48 years of marriage. Sons Jim and Melvin, also daughters Melba, and twin daughters Enid and Elsey. One brother John Bannerman, sisters Margaret Johnson, Ruby Belmore, and Grace Bannerman. Rest in Peace Mom,Grandma, Great Grandma.
