Thelma was born on the family farm north of Treherne on August 13, 1925. Over the next century she lived in the communities of Cypress River, Holland, and Treherne.
Thelma always had a large garden which more than provided for her family until the next harvest. Her one true passion was her flowers. There was virtually no flower she could not make thrive. Everyone looked forward to her Christmas baking – Nanaimo bars and chocolate cherries were two of our favorites. In later years she took a great interest in the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thelma was especially close to her sister Kathleen to whom she spoke to daily.
The family would like to profoundly thank those individuals who provided care to Thelma both through the Home Care program and the last three plus years at the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home.
A private family service with interment at Brookdale Cemetery, Holland Manitoba will be held on August 13, 2025. A reception will follow at the Treherne Friendship Center at 2:00 p.m., to which all are welcome.
