Passed away at the Glenboro Health Centre on Friday August 13, 2021 at the age of 89 years, Olive Elizabeth Johnson (nee Tarbath), of Cypress River, MB.

Olive was born to Dave and Annie Tarbath on July 17, 1932 at Rathwell, Mb the youngest of a family of four children.  On October 22, 1955 she married Wally Johnson of the Bru District.  Together they raised a family of four children, Doug, Shirley, Cindy and Mel.

Olive will always be remembered for her love of her family and friends. She always had time to visit or to help someone in need.  She was extremely active and enjoyed horseback riding, music, dancing and travel.

She was very active in her community holding the position of treasurer of the Cypress River Lodge for 29 years and secretary of the Cypress River Credit Union for 20 years.

After Olive moved to Cypress River Lodge she became close friends with Budd King.  They enjoyed each others company and shared many good times together.

Olive leaves to mourn her passing her four children, Doug Johnson of Winnipeg, MB, Shirley (Michael) Borgford of Winnipeg, MB, Cindy (Glen) MacGillivary of Winnipeg, MB, Mel Johnson of Cypress River, MB; her seven grandchildren  who were the joy in her life, Kendra (Nigel), Taryn (David), Jaeden (Andrew), Kelcey (Sherwin), Bree (Scott/Elizabeth), Haylie and Shae-Lynn , close friend Bud King of Treherne, MB as well as extended relatives & friends.

Olive was predeceased by her husband Wally (2003), parents David & Annie Tarbath, sister Ruth (William) Galbraith & by two infant brothers.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 21, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro, MB, with Sharon Hamilton officiating. Service is open to the public.  Interment will follow in the Bru Cemetery, Cypress River, MB.

Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Olive’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st St., Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8.

Olive’s family would like to thank all who were part of Olive’s life.  Many thanks to the staff of the Glenboro Hospital for your excellent care while she was a patient.
