It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Raymond Van Den Bossche on Sunday June 27, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

Dad was born on July 17, 1931 to Maurice and Helen Van Den Bossche.  He was one of six children.  Dad married Agnes Hacault on June 30, 1956 and they were together for 55 years until her passing on January 11, 2012.

He is fondly remembered by his children Lucille (William) of Winnipeg MB, Laurie (Bonnie) of Bruxelles MB, Danny of Bruxelles and Joanne (Norman) of Glenora MB, daughter-in -law Loreen Dawson of Sechelt BC, his grandchildren Stefan, Kristine (Mike) and Tomas Randa, David (Tiff), Michael, James and Bradley (Emily) Van Den Bossche and Vanessa and Justin Lebeau, his great-granddaughter Charlotte Van Den Bossche and his sister Adrienne (Marcel) De Meuleneire as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in laws.  He was predeceased by his son Dennis, brothers Jules and Alex and his sisters Rachel (Camille) DeSmet and Lorette (Louis) Devos.

Dad was born at the family farm in Bruxelles,  He attended Ste. Marie School in Bruxelles, completing grade 10.  A few years later he attended  the University of Manitoba for 2 years receiving a Diploma in Agriculture in 1953. Dad and Mom with the help of their children operated a dairy and grain farm. Dad loved farming , he continued to help his sons even after they retired to Holland in 2001.

We thank the staff at the Tiger Hills Health Centre where he resided since October 2020.  Thank you for keeping him safe and taking great care of him and all the other residents during a very challenging time. Also a special thanks to Judy and Les DeJersey, his neighbors in Holland, for helping Raymond stay in his home as long as possible.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Gerard Catholic Church, Bruxelles, MB, on Friday July 2, 2021 with Father Joseph Tran as Celebrant.  Interment will follow in the St. Gerard Parish Cemetery.  Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Ray’s memory to the Tiger Hills Personal Care Home, Box 130, Treherne, MB R0G 2V0.
