Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Emily Girardin (nee Campbell) on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 4:55 pm. At a young age of 73, mom left the world far too soon. She fought hard right till the end.

Born and raised in Swan Lake, Manitoba. Ruth was the third child born to George and Kathleen Campbell (nee Orr). She is predeceased by her parents, and brother John Campbell. She moved to Winnipeg in her late teens where she established her life and married the love of her life, Antonio Girardin. They had two children Christian (Nancy) and Erin (Ronald Jason). Ruth also leaves her sister Margaret Lees (Campbell) as well as extended family & friends.

Ruth committed herself to 40 years of service with the Manitoba Legislative Library where she made so many friends. Eleven years ago her pride and joys came into the world. She was blessed with two grandchildren Chloe and Parker. She loved them with all her heart and would do anything for them. Ruth could also never do without her fur babies. They sat by her side and gave her comfort in her darkest moments.

As years went by a big part of moms heart was still in Swan Lake. She always went back for visits and kept in touch with all her friends. She instilled her life goals in everyone around her with her infectious eyes and bubbly laugh. She was a great listener and a source of comfort and knowledge to many.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and best friend. Mom and dad just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September surrounded by family.

We have many memories that we will cherish and great stories to tell.

A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday January 14, 2023 at 11:30 am in the Swan Lake Community Hall with Heather Grobb officiating.  Everyone is invited.  A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Beaconsfield Cemetery. Friends that so wish, memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd, Winnipeg, MB, R3P 2T5 or to a charity of choice.
