Tour Our Facility

Jamieson's Funeral Service, Willmor Chapel, was built in 1999 with the chapel dedication held on April 8, 2000. The land was at one time owned by the veterinarian, Dr. W.J. Shaw & was used as pasture for his horses. In 1965, the former Glenboro Creamery under the direction of Bill Oliphant, constructed a masonry brick structure 24’x34’ to be used as a milk receiving station & later a hatchery. Over the years, this structure was used as an antique furniture shop, a pizza restaurant, and lastly was known as Country Village Crafts.

Addition’s were made to incorporate the existing building into one structure. The building is handicap accessible, consists of a foyer, double office, reception/arrangement area, a work area consists of a double bay garage, preparation room & mechanical room, all heated using the floor heat system. The selection room displaying caskets & cremation products also allows for overflow seating by retracting a folding wall, providing additional space. Incorporating old with the new, curved oak pews from the former Bru Lutheran Church were installed and can accomodate 150 people. Expansion into the adjacent selection room will allow an additional 90 persons, & if need be, the double garage bay area can be utilized for larger gatherings.

Energy efficiency was in mind when constructing this facility. The funeral home is one of few in Canada equiped with a Geothermal Heating/Cooling System, a concept of using heat pumps to extract energy from the ground. There is also plenty of parking with enough room for approx. 80 vehicles.
