Passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday June 25, 2021 at the age of 70 years, John David Traxler, better known as “Trax”, of Glenboro, MB.

Trax was born June 8, 1951, a native of Strathroy Ontario .  He traveled west and eventually gained employment in at the Assiniboine Downs in Winnipeg working in the stables & grooming horses.  Ron Cullen of Glenboro offered him a position looking after his horses at the Downs and in 1990 the Manitoba Harness Racing named Trax Groom of the year.  Eventually, he moved out to Glenboro to train & care for Ron’s horses at the stables at the Glenboro Fairgrounds year round.  He liked the community so much, he decided to make this his permanent home.

Trax had a personality of his own but was always courteous & friendly. He had a love for animals, especially cats.  Although he has no known family, he did have a circle of close friends who are going to miss him.  Many people in the community helped him out over the years and accepted Trax as he was, a very caring soul. He will be missed by those that knew him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Glenboro Cemetery with Sharon Hamilton officiating.  Due to Covid restrictions still in place, only a limited number of people may attend his service. Please contact Charles Radford at 204-526-5668 for attending.  However, the service will be webcast for those unable to attend and wishing to view the service.  The webcast will be available online at 3:00 pm at www.willmorchapel.com.

Memorial donations may be made in Trax’s memory to the Glenboro Cat Shelter, (for receipt purposes, please make payable to the R.M. of Glenboro-South Cypress), Box 219, Glenboro, MB  R0K 0X0.
