Barry was born June 18, 1934, one of two sons to Norman & Winnifred Williams. Barry left Glenboro at a young age and worked for the C.N.R Finance Dept for several years, prior to purchasing a small hotel in the Whiteshell. Upon selling that hotel he became an agent for the Monarch Life Association Co. back in Glenboro. When the Credit Union was ready to be opened on a full time basis in the late 1960's, Barry took over as its first full time manager. After several years & the construction of a new building, Barry decided to go back into the hospitality business.

In 1980 he purchased the Sperling Hotel and has remained in the same type of business ever since. In 1990 he married Beth Lalonde of Glenboro and in 1995 they purchased the Ethelbert Bar & Restaurant. In 2000, he sold the business and retired in Ethelbert. In the last year, due to poor health, Barry he moved into the Personal Care Home in Gilbert Plains.

Barry was a member of the Glenboro Masonic Lodge, a Khartom Temple Shriner and served as mayor of Glenboro from 1977- 1980. Barry made two trips to Australia to visit his son Ron, & he loved his pets Snooper, Momma Snoop & Sugar.

Barry leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Beth (nee Hill), daughter April (Tom) Fleischmann of Souris, MB, son Ron (Shiho) Williams of Perth Australia, grandchildren Kyle, Barry, Dylan & Jasmine; step children Blair & Greg Lalonde, step grandson Colin Higgins, as well as numerous extended relatives & friends.

Dear Family, Thinking of all of you on the loss of your husband, father, grandfather. Treasure all the memories - they are so precious. Share them with each other. I worked at the Credit Union in Glenboro for a couple of summers while still in school. Barry was the Manager. I remember going to Swan River (I think) for a Credit Union bonspiel with Barry - don't remember how we did curling but I do remember playing pool on a huge table. Special memories. Hugs Rick, Sue (nee Dowd), Brent, Krista & Henry.
